dc.description.abstract	A temática ambiental vem se tornando cada vez mais presente e essencial no nosso dia a dia e, com ela, novas palavras e conceitos passam a fazer parte das nossas conversas, leituras e das notícias veiculadas. No Vocabulário Ambiental Infantojuvenil, a ciência, o lúdico e a arte se juntam para melhor dizer o significado dessas palavras e conceitos e para popularizar o que a ciência define. Esperamos, assim, contribuir para que crianças de todas as idades despertem seu interesse pela educação ambiental e pelos debates em torno do maior desafio desse século: harmonizar a conservação ambiental, a justiça social, o crescimento econômico e a paz.	pt_BR
dc.description.tableofcontents	The definition of technical terms to children is challenging for being never complete, always allows them to wonder about something else. The search for a detailed, meticulous meaning commonly obstruct the clarity and simplicity of it when building a verbal concept or outlining its technical complexity. Therefore, explaining a notion or an idea must be done carefully so that simplicity does not compromise the completeness of the concept. The Environmental Vocabulary for Children (EVC) aims at finding a new way to look at the terminology used in the environmental themes for children, using concepts and illustrations. Each of the 100 entries of the dictionary presented in this work – divided into four major themes Biodiversity, Climate, Energy and Pollution, and Sustainability – is presented in both playful and technical complementary formats. They were prepared from available concepts found in children’s dictionaries, technical and scientific literature, seeking to be simple and clear to students at all ages. The entries are represented by explanatory illustrations made by children. The EVC also aims to be a tool for disseminating scientific support to formal education and to be a scientific adventure to arouse children’s interest in environmental education. As a consequence, it is expected to influence the development of thinking and doing of children and the young ones. As important transformation agents of society, children are frequently involved in the construction of collective rules in the family environment as well as in school and social groups to which they belong.	pt_BR
